Yale has a connection with Bhutan. I am unsure if I can find the article but the Yale Alumni Monthly had an article on forestry and Bhutan a couple of years ago. One of the chief foresters had obtained his advanced degree there.
That the government and most of the people are aware of the problems with deforestration to the arable land in the mountains and in the flatlands below, there are still those who would profit from wholesale harvest of timber.
