Tiny Bhutan is giving a million dollars to Japan for quake efforts; an ongoing series of prayer ceremonies is being held around the country in monasteries; and yesterday the King held a lunch for members of the Japanese community living in Thimphu to “lift their spirits.” (The picture below is posted to the King’s page on Facebook, if you haven’t friended him and would like to. 🙂 Japan has been a good friend to Bhutan; trash collection trucks, the television station BBS, and the Kilu music school are just some of the infrastructure that’s benefitted from the largesse of Japan.
