Women throughout Bhutan are skilled weavers. Using sheep's wool and occasionally the traditional yak wool, they weave multicoloured tapestries called “yathra.” By selling their yathra to handicraft shops, the women generate income to support their families. PHOTO BY JENNIFER McRUER
