Reminding the farmers to live off the land.

From today’s Kuensel, a story about a workshop just concluded in a remote part of the country to persuade villagers not to use manufactured products. If farmers in remote Bhutan prefer to use milk powder over milk, you know we’re in trouble.


“We must steer our children away from chips and frizzy drinks, which experts said, result in obesity,” Dewathang resident Tashi Tobgay said. “We’ll grow walnut trees and other medicinal plants, which helps income generation besides preserving environment,” said another.
